Description
Isole e Olena Chianti Classico 2021 opens with a bouquet of cherry, violet and undergrowth. The wine is produced with 82% Sangiovese, 15% Canaiolo and 3% Syrah. The grapes ferment in steel and the wine then matures in oak barrels for seven months. The result is a silky and full-bodied Chianti Classico, and the natural freshness of the wine gives way to black cherry, blackcurrant and plum.
Isole e Olena is Paolo De Marchi’s jewel cellar in Barberino val d’Elsa. The name of the company is due to the combination of the names of the two properties purchased in the middle of the last century by the De Marchi family (of Piedmontese origin) in Tuscany. Paolo moved permanently to Isole e Olena in 1976. A profound restructuring of the company dates back to those years, based on quality and the idea of putting the territory in a position to express itself at its best. Important results have rewarded and still reward Paolo’s work and his Sangiovese. Despite the 50 hectares of vineyards, the company is still family-run today and the results achieved make it one of the Chianti Classico wine heritages.
