Description
Castello di Monsanto Chianti Classico 2022– a blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo – is broad, soft and full of fruit. Ripe cherry and strawberry on the nose, followed by spices and soil. Serve it for lunch with grilled meat.
Castello di Monsanto is a beautiful estate in Barberino Val d’Elsa, owned by the Bianchi family since 1962. The Castello di Monsanto estate has 206 hectares, more than half of which are wooded. The olive groves occupy another 15 hectares.
The owned vineyards, located at an altitude between 250 and 310 metres, extend over 72 hectares planted with Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Trebbiano and Malvasia.
Castello di Monsanto is also famous for its vaulted aging cellar. This spectacular “tunnel” has a length of 300 meters where the barrels are kept. What is effectively a gallery, connects the new cellar with the original cellar, which is located just below the castle and dates back to 1740.
I Chianti Classico sono di matrice tradizionale e capaci di resistere al tempo in modo stupefacente. Sicuramente un’azienda da considerare fra i baluardi della denominazione.
