Description
The Chablis 1er Cru Vaillon by Christian Moreau is a classic and precise expression of one of the most recognized Premier Crus in the Chablis appellation. The Vaillon climat, located on the left bank of the Serein River, is known for its ability to combine finesse, tension and natural approachability, while retaining the depth typical of great Chablis.
The grapes come from vineyards planted on Kimmeridgian soils, rich in limestone and marine fossils, a key element that gives the wine its distinctly mineral character. Exposure and microclimate allow for balanced ripening of Chardonnay, preserving freshness and aromatic precision. Harvesting is carried out with great care, aiming to maintain fruit integrity and varietal purity.
In the glass, the wine shows a bright straw-yellow color. The aromatic profile is clean and elegant, with notes of citrus, green apple, white flowers, chalk and wet stone, complemented by a subtle saline touch. On the palate it is tense, linear and vibrant, with well-integrated acidity and a deep mineral texture leading to a long, fresh and precise finish.
The Vaillon by Christian Moreau interprets the Premier Cru with an authentic and balanced style, offering immediate drinkability in its youth as well as an interesting potential for aging. It is a Chablis that speaks clearly of its terroir, without excess or manipulation, in full respect of tradition.
