Description
The Azienda Agricola Castellaccio is located in one of the historical areas of the Chianti Classico region, on the slopes of the Chianti Mountains at an altitude between 400 and 600 meters, in the surroundings of Lucolena and Lamole (Greve in Chianti).
The vineyards lie on hillsides with excellent ventilation, a cool climate, and significant diurnal temperature variation — conditions that encourage slow ripening and elegant aromatic development.
Since 2014, Castellaccio has been converting to organic farming, adopting practices that respect the soil and the environment, resulting in wines that express the character of the land in an authentic way.
Coste di Felice Chianti Classico
Vinification and ageing: hand-harvested; spontaneous fermentation in cement; aged for about 12 months in large wooden casks, followed by further bottle ageing before release.
Tasting profile: bright ruby colour; on the nose it reveals ripe red and black fruits, with floral touches and delicate spicy notes recalling violet, plum, and subtle spices.
On the palate it is vertical and vibrant: fresh acidity, firm structure, well-shaped tannins, and a savoury, mineral impression. The fruit remains clear and focused, with elegance and precision.
Interpretation and identity
Coste di Felice is not a “showy” wine: it is an honest Sangiovese, reflecting altitude, soil, and the estate’s commitment to organic farming. It comes from resilient, high-elevation vineyards where constant ventilation and strong day-night temperature shifts bring finesse, freshness, and supple tannins.
It is an ideal Chianti Classico for those who seek an authentic wine — versatile at the table and expressive of its territory. Perfect with Tuscan cured meats, pici with ragù, roasted meats, or aged cheeses.
