Description
Jurij Fiore e Figlia Porcacciamiseria Chianti Classico 2021 is obtained with grapes from a single vineyard planted over 70 years ago and located at approximately 650 meters above sea level. The main vine is Sangiovese but there are also small quantities of other traditional vines as used in the old Chianti Classico vineyards. Porcacciamiseria is produced in extremely limited quantities, with only 900 bottles, this Sangiovese ferments in steel tanks and subsequently refines in a Burgundian pièce, a slightly larger and pot-bellied barrique than the classic one, with slightly thicker staves.
The winery of Jurij Fiore and his daughter Sara, despite its Lilliputian size of less than 2 hectares, represents a point of reference for those seeking authenticity and quality. Different varieties of grapes are grown here, with particular attention to Sangiovese, alongside some white grape varieties such as Trebbiano and Vermentino. Some of the plants, grown with the traditional sapling method, are even centuries old, which gives the wine a unique complexity and depth.
The vinification of “Sonocosi” follows a linear and typical path, respecting the naturalness of the fruit. After fermentation in stainless steel, which preserves the freshness and authenticity of the wine, the wine is aged in steel and for short periods in wood, avoiding long contacts that could alter its typicality. The result is a wine with a brilliant ruby color, with an elegant bouquet of ripe red fruit and light spicy and floral notes, characteristic of Sangiovese.
On the palate, “Sonocosi” is structured and complex, with well-integrated tannins and a lively acidity that gives freshness. The finish is long and mineral, perfectly reflecting the unique terrain of Lamole.
