Description
Discover the essence of Tuscany with Le Potazzine Brunello di Montalcino 2021, a red wine that celebrates the authenticity and elegance of Sangiovese. Produced in two distinct vineyard plots owned by the company, Le Prata at 507 meters above sea level with south-west exposure and La Torre at 420 meters above sea level with south-east exposure, this Brunello di Montalcino offers a unique and distinctive character. After being vinified and aged individually, the wines are combined into a single solution, creating a harmonious and complex blend.
Grape variety and winemaking:
Le Potazzine Brunello di Montalcino 2020 is produced with 100% certified organic Sangiovese. The vines are trained according to the Guyot system and the planting density is 5952 vines/ha. The company’s philosophy is to be ambassadors of the Montalcino tradition, reflecting the elegance of pure Sangiovese through long spontaneous fermentations, conducted only by native yeasts without temperature control. Furthermore, the wine ages for 42 months in large 30/50 hl Slavonian oak barrels, remaining unfiltered.
Climate Trend and Yield:
The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino vintage was characterized by a regular winter and a spring with moderate rainfall. The rains of August and the favorable climatic conditions, with good temperature variations in September, led to a perfect ripening of the grapes. The yield per hectare was 55/60 quintals, guaranteeing an excellent concentration of flavors and aromas.
Tasting Notes:
On the nose, Le Potazzine Brunello di Montalcino 2020 presents a perfect balance between fruity and floral scents, with notes of black berries, gardenia and violet. In the mouth, the wine is juicy and tasty, well defined by spicy notes and aromas of red cherry. This Brunello is already magnificent at the moment, but it also has the potential to be aged in the cellar for two decades.
