The vines have an average age of about <strong data-start=\"1846\" data-end=\"1858\">25 years<\/strong>, and the farming practices are rooted in tradition and vineyard balance. Grapes are <strong data-start=\"1943\" data-end=\"1964\">harvested by hand<\/strong>, and the wine is made using a traditional method: <strong data-start=\"2015\" data-end=\"2047\">fermentation in cement tanks<\/strong> followed by <strong data-start=\"2060\" data-end=\"2098\">aging in large Slavonian oak casks<\/strong> for about <strong data-start=\"2109\" data-end=\"2121\">one year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2124\" data-end=\"2431\">Langhe Nebbiolo is the perfect introduction to the Mascarello estate style: a pure and elegant Nebbiolo, marked by floral notes, silky tannins, and remarkable depth for what is technically the entry-level wine. It is made to be enjoyed young, but can also develop beautifully with a few years of bottle age.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2433\" data-end=\"2776\">The <strong data-start=\"2437\" data-end=\"2469\">Giuseppe Mascarello e Figlio<\/strong> estate, now led by <strong data-start=\"2489\" data-end=\"2509\">Mauro Mascarello<\/strong>, is among the most historic and respected in Piedmont.
