Il Colle is located in the northern part of Montalcino, on the road leading to Torrenieri, but some of the vineyards are also in the southern part of Montalcino, not far from Castelnuovo dell’Abate, for a total of 7 hectares of vineyards. The winery was founded in 1972 when Alberto Carli purchased it from the Galsassi family; he enlisted Giulio Gambelli<\/strong>\u2014a master taster and undisputed expert on Sangiovese<\/strong>\u2014as his consultant.
