Produced by Montevertine, it represents one of the most authentic interpretations of Sangiovese, blended with Canaiolo and Colorino, while maintaining a deep connection to its terroir.

The grapes are hand-harvested with careful selection in the vineyard and vinified in concrete vats, where fermentation takes place with skin maceration lasting approximately 20–25 days. Malolactic fermentation also occurs in concrete, helping to preserve aromatic precision and integrity. The wine is then aged in Slavonian oak casks of varying sizes for about 18 months, followed by additional bottle aging before release.

The 2023 vintage was marked by a complex growing season, with significant downy mildew pressure and high temperatures, leading to reduced yields but greater concentration in the fruit. The result is a Montevertine 2023 that is more structured and deeper than the estate’s classic style, with denser texture and strong aging potential.

It is a wine that fully expresses the tradition of Radda in Chianti, with a natural ability to age and evolve over 10–20 years while maintaining balance and energy.

Sergio Manetti purchased Montevertine in 1967 as a holiday home for his family. He immediately planted two hectares of vineyards and built a small cellar, initially intending to produce wine for family and friends. The first vintage bottled under his supervision was 1971, and it quickly became clear that this would be far more than a “wine for friends.” Within a few years, Manetti left his main business to fully dedicate himself to what had become his true passion: wine.

From the very beginning, Manetti recognized the potential of Sangiovese and devoted all his efforts to it. In 1981, when Chianti Classico regulations did not allow wines made exclusively from Sangiovese, Montevertine chose to leave the consortium, giving up the appellation. Despite this formal absence, Montevertine remains one of the purest and most authentic expressions of the Chianti Classico territory.

In recent years, the estate has undergone a generational transition following the passing of Sergio Manetti, Giulio Gambelli—legendary taster and one of the greatest experts of Sangiovese—and, more recently, Bruno Bini, the longtime cellar master. Today, Montevertine is in the hands of Martino Manetti, Sergio’s son, and Paolo Salvi, a student of Gambelli. Together, they continue to preserve and protect the style and philosophy of their predecessors.

Montevertine 2023 is produced in Radda in Chianti, in the heart of the Chianti Classico, from vineyards located between 400 […]

[1812
2304,2245,2248
post-13417","product","type-product","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","product_cat-drink","product_tag-montevertine-en","product_tag-toscana-igt-en","product_tag-vini-di-radda-en","pa_categorie-speciali-montevertine-en","pa_categorie-speciali-vini-di-radda-en","pa_chianti-classico-radda-in-chianti-wines","pa_etichette-porciatti-artisan-producers","pa_produttore-montevertine-en","first","instock","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple
["GET
