The vineyards sit at around <strong>280 meters above sea level<\/strong>, on <strong>calcareous-clay soils with sandy veins<\/strong>, which lend structure, depth, and marked elegance to the wines. The <strong>southwest exposure<\/strong> ensures slow, even ripening. Harvesting is <strong>done by hand<\/strong>, and the vinification follows the estate\u2019s traditional style: <strong>fermentation with the cap floating for 15\u201320 days<\/strong>, followed by <strong>aging in large Slavonian oak casks<\/strong> for at least <strong>36 months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Giuseppe Mascarello e Figlio<\/strong> is one of Barolo\u2019s most iconic producers, with a legacy that dates back to the mid-19th century. Today the estate is run by <strong>Mauro Mascarello<\/strong>, the fourth generation of the family, and widely regarded as a master of traditional Piemontese winemaking. The approach is firmly classic, yet rigorous and coherent, with a deep respect for the identity of each individual vineyard.<\/p>\n<p>The winery is based in <strong>Monchiero<\/strong>, in an 18th-century building purchased by the family in 1921. While the legendary <strong>Monprivato<\/strong> cru remains the beating heart of the estate, in recent decades the Mascarellos have invested in other top sites such as <strong>Villero<\/strong> and <strong>Santo Stefano di Perno<\/strong>, expanding their range without compromising their philosophy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Barolo Villero<\/strong> is a pure and classical expression of its terroir, producing wines that are deep, structured, and long-lived\u2014perfectly aligned with the stylistic vision of the Mascarello family.
