Description
The Chianti Classico 2020 of Tenuta di Carleone is among the most interesting Sangiovese of Radda in Chianti.
The hand-picked grapes, fermented and macerated for 2 months which then refine in steel and oak barrels give life to an intriguing, juicy, agile and floral wine.
Tenuta di Carlone is located on a sunny and gentle slope of Radda in Chianti. The estate extends over 100 hectares of land among woods, olive groves, and 20 hectares of Sangiovese vineyards, some over 60 years old. The vinification is traditional and artisanal, with long macerations, fermentation with indigenous yeasts and the use of whole bunches in concrete and oak vats, old and new.
The people behind this estate are Austrian entrepreneur Karl Egger and his friend Sean O’Callaghan, aka Il Guercio. A non-interventional winemaking approach is adopted, without commercial yeasts and without clarifying agents. Both organic and biodynamic principles are used in the vineyards.
