Brunello di Montalcino Renieri 2016 is an elegant, fruity and accessible wine that captures the purity and elegance of the vintage.
The most interesting part, however, is the fresh, persuasive and brilliant state of this wine which makes it almost ready to be tasted as soon as it comes out of the cellar.
Renieri’s Brunello di Montalcino comes from an appetite of nine hectares with clayey limestone soils. Aromas of cherry and blackberry, delicate spices toasted and floral notes on the finish. The wine is characterized by a balanced acidity and a nice tannic tension. This is a bottle to choose if you want a memorable taste of the great 2016 vintage.
Renieri, owned by the Bacci family, covers about 120 hectares, of which 30 are planted with vines. It is located in the southern part of the territory of Montalcino, in the lands overlooking Monte Amiata. The altitude of the vineyards is 400 meters above the sea level and the exposure, at almost 360 degrees, goes from east to north-west. Volcanic soils are predominant. Limestone and rock mix with red clays and tuff.
The predominant blend is Sangiovese for Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino.
Renieri produces a small amount of Syrah, bottled in purity. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot are used for IGT wines.
The cellar of over 1000 square meters is underground to facilitate the movement of the grapes by gravity and to maintain the optimal temperature necessary for the refinement of the wine.
