The Bolgheri Rosso Pievi 2019 by Fabio Motta speaks of ease of drink and brilliance. This beautiful 50/25/25 blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon is born from a parcel of a single vineyard. Fabio Motta focuses on the vertical aspect of wine. The result is a “Pievi”, a direct and straightforward Bolgheri surrounded by ripe fruit. Great value for money.
Fabio Motta founded his company in 2009 with the purchase of 4 hectares of vineyards in the DOC Bolgheri, after having worked for several years under the tutelage of his father-in-law Michele Satta, historical producer of the bogherese. Its vineyards are located on the beautiful hills overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and are planted with Bordeaux varieties, Syrah and Sangiovese for red wines and its white wine is a blend of Vermentino, Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyards are cultivated in Biodynamic, a practice that Fabio Motta considers essential to allow the wines to truly speak of their unique terroir. In the cellar his approach is undeniably casual: he uses only indigenous yeasts and avoids at all costs the clarification and filtration of wines.
