Description
The Chianti Classico Riserva Badia a Coltibuono 2017 shows the results of an excellent vintage. It is a harmonious and elegant red wine. It keeps all the promises of Chianti Sangiovese: complexity, elegance and freshness. On the finish mineral notes appear and the tannin is well integrated.
Located in Gaiole in Chianti, the history of Badia a Coltibuono dates back to 1051 and to the order of the Vallombrosan monks. The current owners are the brothers Emanuela, Roberto, Paolo and Guido Stucchi Prinetti.
The hectares of vines are 74 for the most part in the Monti sub-area, always in the municipality of Gaiole in Chianti.
One of the prides of Badia a Coltibuono is the heritage of ancient Sangiovese settlers, used to replant key sites at higher densities, of 7-8,000 Sangiovese plants per hectare.
In 1996 the new cellar in Monti saw the light, and with the 2003 harvest the organic certification arrived
