The 2013 Ferrari Perlé Bianco is born from the careful selection of batches of Chardonnay, which the winemakers of the House believe are more suited to long aging. At least 7 years on selected yeasts from own cultures. The 2013 Ferrari Perlé Bianco is a Trento doc Riserva that seduces with its versatile personality, fascinates with its harmony and conquers with its elegance.
Giulio Ferrari, from Trentino, started his venerable sparkling wine house in 1902, after studying oenology in France. Convinced that the terroir of his native region was ideal for growing Chardonnay, he produced three of his now most famous cuvées – Ferrari Brut, Perlé and Giulio Ferrari – as blanc de blancs.
This innovative approach quickly paid off. Ferrari wines consistently receive some of the best Italian awards, including the award of Tre Bicchieri for 22 consecutive years.
In 1952 Giulio Ferrari, having no children of his own, chose his friend and local merchant Bruno Lunelli as the successor of his beloved business. Today the third generation of the Lunelli family is at the helm. Bruno Lunelli’s passion and entrepreneurial talent passed to his sons Franco, Gino and Mauro, who made Ferrari the market leader in Italy and the national celebratory wine par excellence.
The production is in the hands of a capable team of eight oenologists and four agronomists, led by the chief oenologist Marcello Lunelli. The pursuit of excellence in all areas of Ferrari production and management is a lasting family legacy with several cousins involved in the new generation: Marcello’s cousin, Matteo Lunelli, is the president of Ferrari F.lli Lunelli SpA, Camilla Lunelli is head of global communications, and Alessandro Lunelli, engineer by training, is responsible for design and technical supervision.
This generation leads the company with the aim of combining innovation and tradition, promoting Ferrari around the world as an ambassador of the Italian Art of Living.
